Kai, Founder & CEO of Kompass BMS, is a second-generation surveyor who held a leveling staff for as long as he can remember. With a Master’s in Surveying and an MBA, he has worked in senior management positions in the surveying sector over the last 20 years. In 2010, he joined a relatively small surveying company called Murphy Geospatial in London, UK. As the Managing Director, Kai helped to grow the company from 9 staff to over 180 staff now. At the time, the company was struggling to find software that effectively helps to manage the business. Lots of options were too big or too complex or too awkward to use, so Kai decided to develop a custom system which is what resulted in Kompass BMS, a business management system. In 2020, Kompass BMS was separated from Murphy Geospatial and turned into its own independent company, and Kai switched to leading Kompass full-time.
