This week we were please to have our Nevada Living Legend Mr. John “Steve” Parrish, PLS, CFedS – Presenting John Benson & Crew 1874-1879 “Some footsteps are harder to follow than others.”
This presentation shows the study of two townships, surveyed by Benson-Glover-Putnam (1874-1879), and dependently resurveyed by GLO/BLM (1945-1989), will provide insight into a few of the many shortcuts applied during their pre-1910 original government survey efforts and will illustrate the all-too-common measurement differences between the “official record” and the actual findings after a thorough retracement effort.
