9:00am – 4:00: Oklahoma – Arkansas State Line Monumentation Project | Presented by Daniel Phillips, AR State Surveyor

Daniel is lifelong native of central Arkansas and is passionate about all things surveying. As State Surveyor of Arkansas, Daniel is responsible for leading the Arkansas Division of Land Surveys. This role includes maintaining Arkansas’s Public Land Survey System, prescribing statewide surveying rules, and managing an archive of over 200,000 survey plats. Daniel works closely with various agencies and the citizens of Arkansas.

Daniel will present a detailed session on the Boundary line set in 1825 by treaty between the US and the Choctaw Nation. 1825 Treaty of Washington City “lying east of a line beginning on the Arkansas, one hundred paces east of Fort Smith, and running thence, due south, to Red river”
