Dick also reviews the prominent American makers\, including the exquisite work of Goldsmith Chandlee\, the prolific firm of W. & L.E. Gurley\, and others. Also reviewed are alidades\, levels\, and calculating devices. The equipment shown is all taken from Dick’s extensive collection of early American surveying equipment. DESCRIPTION:Wisconsin Administrative Code Updates \nTuesday\, May 4th @ 8:30AM – 11:00AM \nPresenter: Douglas R. Crane\, Professional Land Surveyor (MN&WI) \n  \nOverview \nThe primary focus of this presentation will be the changes in the statutes\, rules and regulations from the last two years. This will include the significant changes in Chapter A-E 7 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code on the Minimum Standards for Property Surveys in Wisconsin. There have also been changes in Chapter 236 involving subdivisions and Certified Survey Maps that will be covered. There have been some interesting changes in the rules and interpretation of the Ordinary High Water Mark with respect to Professional Surveyors and Property Surveys. As time allows\, we will discuss some of the basic differences between property survey work in Wisconsin and Minnesota\, including the use of Certified Survey Maps to create a new property description.

DESCRIPTION:This presentation will introduce us to the complex and confusing world of riparian water boundaries. The seminar begins with the historical development of water boundary law with regard to Rome\, England\, and the United States. After a foundation has been laid\, the boundary between private lands and the sovereign\, a boundary in continual conflict\, will be discussed in depth. Next\, the differences between inland and ocean and private and public waters will be explained.
