DESCRIPTION:September 29\, 2023 \n8:00 am Sign-in / Breakfast\n9:00 am-12:00: Red River Boundary Dispute | Presented by Brian Portwood \nLunch (provided by OSLS)\n1:00-4:00 pm: Oklahoma boundary/easement court cases | Presented by Brian Portwood \nBrian Portwood is a professional land surveyor and historian of land rights law\, providing advisory\, consulting\, and educational services to the land rights community\, with the goal of fostering interdisciplinary professional collaboration. He was born and raised near Chicago Illinois\, graduated from Lamson Business College in Scottsdale Arizona in 1983\, and began his ongoing career as a land surveyor at that time. Over the ensuing 22 years he worked in the private sector in numerous states from coast to coast\, on both privately funded and publicly funded projects of virtually every kind\, and is now licensed in several western states. Since 2005\, he has been employed by the Bonneville Power Administration\, which is a branch of the United States Department of Energy and has been engaged in hundreds of federal land rights acquisitions. He has been nationally recognized as a leading expert on the federal Quiet Title Act and has authored numerous materials supporting the continuing education of professional land surveyors\, including the Land Surveyor’s Guide to the Supreme Court series of books\, published between 2010 and 2019\, along with many essays on various aspects of federal land rights\, which were published by NSPS between 2015 and 2020. \nALL ATTENDEES WILL BE AWARDED 6 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS\nCost\n\n$100.00 | Members\n$150.00 | non-Members\n\nWALK-UP REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
