Specific topics include the timeline of title transfer; tacking; claims against or by the state; conflicting adverse claims; rules for interruption of a claim; champerty; effect of a survey on a prescriptive claim. \nThe seminar also considers the lost grant theory and its influence on current rules for adverse claims of fee and prescriptive easement law. The first session will be followed by a discussion of the origins of acquiescence\, its many definitions\, and the relationship between acquiescence and other unwritten rights. The primary focus of the class will be on North Carolina\, but examples are included from adjoining states for contrast and comparison.

DESCRIPTION:Basic Photogrammetry (Photogrammetry Competency Course\, Sect 2) \nThis is the last time this course will be offered!\nIf you have been wanting to take the Photogrammetry competency series of courses this is the last time we will be offering Section 2. This section is required before taking Sections 3 & 4.  \nCourse Description: This is a 16-hour course that looks at the basics of photogrammetry. Attendees will look at the history of photogrammetry as well as gain a working understanding of the components and terminology. Information covered will lead to a greater understanding and appreciation of aerial mapping using UAVs. Topics include image measurements\, object space coordinate systems\, vertical and tilted photogrammetry\, parallax\, digital imagery\, and stereoscopic viewing. Flight planning for traditional data collection will be covered. The process of orthorectification will be discussed including interior and exterior orientations\, triangulation and bundle adjustments. During the course\, multiple quizzes will be given to determine the core knowledge of the participant. \nBring a calculator with Trig functionality.\n \nLunch is provided. Space is limited to 20 attendees. \nInstructor: \nPeggy Fersner\, Geomatics Coordinator NCA&T\, has been on the faculty of North Carolina A&T State University since 1993 teaching surveying\, GIS\, and hydrology courses. She is also the coordinator of the 4-year Geomatics program at NC A&T State University. Prior to this\, she was a consulting engineer in Charleston\, SC with an emphasis on subdivision design.
