DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO THE 70TH ANNUAL ISPLS CONVENTION\n  \nOn behalf of the ISPLS Board of Directors\, we would like to extend to you an invitation to attend the 2022 ISPLS Annual Convention! \nPlease select the “Register” near the top of this page to register for this event. Download the registration brochure to view a list of all sessions being offered. \n  \nIf for some reason the “Register” link does not work\, select “View Sessions” then select “Register.” This has occurred with a limited number of web browsers. \n  \nThere are multiple ways to register for the convention. But the easiest way is online. You have the convenience of registering for courses and submitting your payment instantly with your debit/credit card or you could ask to be invoiced. Likewise\, you are always welcome to mail\, email\, fax or phone in your registration to the ISPLS office. For complete details\, download a digital copy of the 2022 registration brochure. \n  \nA 90% refund will be offered to requests made before Friday\, 1/7/2022. After 1/7/2022\, no refunds will be made. \nNo pre-registrations will be accepted after 1/7/2022. After that\, registration will be at the door and dependent upon the availability of seating. \n\nThe Full Convention Registration and the Student (full time) Registration includes all e-handouts\, breakfasts\, refreshment breaks\, two luncheons\, one reception\, and the Awards Banquet Dinner.\nThe Essential Convention Registration includes all e-handouts\, breakfasts\, refreshment breaks\, two luncheons\, one reception\, but does NOT include entrance to the Awards Banquet Dinner\nOne-day Registration includes handouts\, breakfast\, refreshment break\, luncheon\, and reception for the day registered. If attending on Thursday\, this registration does not include the Awards Banquet Dinner.

Although rights of way are the most common\, you may need to draft an easement for utilities\, encroachment or telephonic communications. There are critical legal issues and practical considerations involved. Whether you are assessing the impact of the easement on property use or finding the most strategic way of obtaining access\, this presentation will help. This presentation will cover a number of objectives giving up-to-date information on creating easements\, locating and defining their course\, preparation of easement descriptions\, easement kinds and purpose along with easement reversion. \nDeeds and Descriptions:\nThis session will address key issues with regard to Deeds and Descriptions. Included will be information on understanding the purpose of a land description and who should prepare one\, along with the importance of intent. It will cover survey terminology and definitions. Part of the presentation will be keys on how to research land records to check for adjoining property and indexes to land records. There will be a section on essential elements of a description as well as types of descriptions and common errors found. \nA presentation and discussion on several pertinent court cases pertaining to Deeds and Descriptions will also be a part of this session.
